Youth Group

We are thankful and amazed by the youth that God brings to our group.  We are blessed and inspired by their faith and we consider it a joy to lead them.  Thank you to EVERYONE who donated items to the youth group bake sale. We made over $500 and are so thankful! Don’t forget to get your 2016 inspirational wall calendar… they make great gifts and are available to purchase every Sunday (and during the week in the office)

“Legacy Youth Group” if you are not there you are missing out… or are you?  I would like to take you through the lives of our youth and the season they are in.  It is a season of transition from junior high students look towards high school and high school students look towards college or just life after school.  There have been many challenges in the lives of our youth that many of us have never had to face.  Social media is commonplace in their world with issues like bullying, gossip, threats to harm etc. It has also become a world to share faith, joys and developing friendships.  Family lives differ from one youth to the next.  Their world is full of unanswered questions and ideals or theories about life, the world, why things happen, who is in charge of this whole thing called LIFE etc.   The youth are hungry for something stable, something true, and something that is there for them when no one else is.  God has provided this for them every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30.  In reality God has provided them with 24 hour 7 days a week HOPE.  He has done this thru this church and its leaders.  Talk to a leader and you will hear not just a youth leader to this group, but a proud parent to them available at any time to pray, talk, share God!  Why do they do this? I can tell you it is because of the reciprocating love that pours out of our youth.  From the newest youth to the oldest there is a sense of caring, love and compassion they have for others.  Wednesday nights are not just a time to hang out at a building but a place they will learn about Jesus.  It is their church! They develop friendships, have fun, worship, and have bible study time with relevant messages.  They learn how to use their social media and phones to learn more about God thru apps and websites, as well as using their bible to find answers to life’s questions and struggles. It is a place where you will see lives change, faith maturing, leaders developing, expressions of worship and FAMILY. I believe God has a special calling in every one of their lives.  God is moving us and it is an exciting time for our church and our youth as we are witnesses to their growing faith!
So what do you think? Are you missing out?  Come and check it out!
Legacy youth:  Romans 8:38-39 “I’m absolutely convinced that nothing-nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable- absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.”
